MORE LIES THAT HINDER A PERSON FROM SPENDING ETERNITY WITH GOD

LIE #7:

SOME DAY I WILL GIVE MY LIFE TO JESUS

When it comes to the things of God, all of humanity is prone to procrastination.

Though a person may have seen hundreds of people die, and can thus comprehend the mortality of the human body, for some reason, we generally never really realize that the next person to die may be ourself. We think that we have time to get right with Jesus.

Others have actually seen some who were on their deathbed give their heart to Jesus at the last minute. They think they can live life to the fullest, and then when they are old and dying, they, too can give their lives to Jesus. How foolish! I wonder how many people have had that mentality, and then died suddenly in a car accident, or a drive by shooting, or a massive heart attack, or....

The fact of the matter is, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow, and yet we live as if we have forever to come to Jesus.
The Bible says:
2 Cor 6:1-2 1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Eternity in Hell is not a light matter.

Most people have pet sins that they do not wish to give up. Some may own a bar. It is the source of their income. Yet deep inside, they know that they are causing many to stumble straight to hell. They know they will have to get out of the business they are in, if they come to Jesus...they figure “maybe after I retire...”

The same goes for the drug dealer, the prostitute, the pornographer, the psychic, or anyone else who earns their living in a way they know God would not approve of.

The Truth of the matter is that they esteem their riches more than they do their soul.

A person may be living in adultry with another person. Though they know it is wrong, they would rather live that life, than come to Jesus in True repentance. Such a person needs to understand that the sin they are holding so tightly to is of more importance to them than God. That sin is more important to them than God Himself. If it wasn’t, they wouldn’t want to hold on to it so hard.

The first commandment tells us that we are not to have any gods before the True and Living God. What a terrible thing it will be to see the folly that we sold our souls for when we stand before the True and Living God in all His Splendor and Majesty.

JESUS SAID:

Mark 8:34-38
34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (KJV)

Another lie that Satan tries to feed you is that when you come to Jesus, there goes all of your fun. If you become religious, that is true. But if you sincerely enter into a serious relationship with the True and Living God, living for Jesus is a day to day adventure that you never could have dreamed of!

I wouldn’t exchange the past sixteen years of dwelling in the light of God, for a thousand of my years I spent in the darkness of sin. Just going to church will never satisfy anyone. It’s about falling in love with the God who loves you so much, that He wants you to know Him as your “daddy”.

Gal 4:4-8

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. 8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. (KJV)

According to Vine’s dictionary of New Testament words, “abba” is defined as:

ABBA

abba is an Aramaic word. In the Gemara (a Rabbinical commentary on the Mishna, the traditional teaching of the Jews) it is stated that slaves were forbidden to address the head of the family by this title. It approximates to a personal name, in contrast to "Father," with which it is always joined in the NT. This is probably due to the fact that, abba having practically become a proper name, Greek-speaking Jews added the Greek word pater, "father," from the language they used. Abba is the word framed by the lips of infants, and betokens unreasoning trust; "father" expresses an intelligent apprehension of the relationship. The two together express the love and intelligent confidence of the child. (from Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words) (Copyright (C) 1985, Thomas Nelson Publishers)

What a wonderful God He is! What a wonderful discovery I made of the depths of God’s Love when I asked Jesus to come into my heart. How I wasted those past years spent in sin and darkness.

Friend, NOTHING IS WORTH HOLDING YOU BACK FROM DISCOVERING THE DEPTHS OF GOD’S LOVE.

Luke 12:15-21

15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. (KJV)

Remember, you are not guaranteed tomorrow. Today is the Day of salvation. Tomorrow may be too late.

Forsake the Lie.

Receive the Truth today.

LET JESUS CHANGE YOUR LIFE TODAY.

STILL ANOTHER LIE THAT KEEPS PEOPLE FROM OBTAINING SALVATION

LIE #8:

IF GOD WAS A GOD OF LOVE, HE WOULDN’T LET ALL THE BAD THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN THIS WORLD TO CONTINUE AS THEY ARE.

Let me tell you right now that I am thankful that I am not God, because if I was, I certainly would have botched things up a long time ago. In fact, there is one who would want to exalt himself to the position of the God over all, but he can never attain to that position. He has to settle with being merely called a god. See what the Word of God has to say about this “god”.

2 Cor 4:3
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (KJV)

The God who created the heavens and the earth is not the god of this world. Actually, the proper term used in 2 Cor.4:4 would be the “god of this age”. You see, in truth, since the rebellion of Adam and Eve in the Garden, the bulk of humanity has purposely subjected their wills to the god of this age. His name is Satan. He rules over the hearts and the souls of sinful man.

The fact of the matter is that there is pleasure in sin, for a season, and we humans choose to go after those pleasures, rather than the things of God. We have given Satan the rule over this age, by subjecting ourselves to him.

This being the case, it is rather silly of us to blame the God who created the heavens and the earth for what Satan has done.

Also, it is down right foolish for anyone to wish that God would put an end to the evil, because the chances are that most of the people who have this complaint against God would end up in Hell themselves because they are sinners in rebellion against God and His Will for their lives.

What the sinner should say is that he is thankful for the Mercy of God, and that in His Mercy, He changes the evil in the world by one heart at a time.

In God’s eyes, even the basest sinner is worthy of God’s Mercy.

2 Pet 3:1-13

1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

There will be a Day when the Lord will execute His righteous Judgement over all mankind and will eradicate evil.

But in His Infinite Wisdom, Grace, and Mercy, and in His incredible Love for us, this Wonderful God has elected to wait, because He is not willing that any person should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.
